Embedding Video with MarsEdit

To embed a YouTube, Vimeo, or other hosted video in a blog post, you need to obtain the “embed code” from the service so you can paste it into MarsEdit.

For example, on YouTube you can find the embed code in the “Share” section of a movie’s page. A YouTube embed code might look something like this:

<iframe width="1280" height="720" src="//www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/wLgSbo0YsN8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

To embed a video with such an embed code:

  1. Navigate in your web browser to a video page that contains an embed code.
  2. Select the embed code, and click Edit > Copy from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Open MarsEdit and click in a post where you want to embed the video.
  4. Click Edit > Paste from the menu bar to insert the embed code for the video right into the post.

After inserting the video, select View > Show Preview to confirm that the video has been embedded successfully.
